Are You A Native Speaker Willing To Teach English Online? Qkids Has A Job For You.

Who Are We?

Qkids introduced its online teaching platform in 2016 to bridge the gap between talented teachers and deserving students. We help non-native speaking students find qualified teachers and learn English speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Basic Requirements

Interested in teaching with us? Here is what you will need.

  • Have a bachelor’s degree (or above) or seeking a degree course from a recognized college
  • A native speaker who is certified or experienced in teaching English as a second language (Preferred)
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Loves to teach young students
  • Pleasant personality
  • Legally allowed to reside and work in the US or Canada

Technology Requirements

  • A desktop computer or laptop: Windows 7 or above, Mac iOS 10.10 or above
  • Stable internet connection: Minimum 20Mbps download speed
  • Video communication tools such as the Qkids platform
  • Headphone and webcam: Using an external audio and video device provides better quality than the device's built-in microphone or camera.

Ready To Apply? Follow 6 Steps

  • Step1: Sign in on the Qkids website and fill an online application. Scan and upload documents showing your educational and work experience.
  • Step2: Select a demo interview date. Present a live demo session (2-3min) where you will teach using our lesson slides. You can also send a pre-recorded demo session.
  • Step3: Join our trainer and teachers for two training sessions. The sessions are roughly 1 hour long each. You will learn about our platform, how to use our teaching resources, class management, etc. By the end of these sessions, we expect you to confidently teach your first batch of students.
  • Step4: Take two trial (paid) classes. You will use your skills and training to teach students. Use materials, lesson slides, and other props to engage students.
  • Step5: Approve background check. To ensure that our students learn from the best and genuine teachers, we conduct a background check of the information provided by you in the application form. Once we are satisfied, we will sign an initial 6-month contract with you
  • Step6: You can book your classes on the Qkids platform and start teaching!

Tips To Record or Present Demo Interview

  • The video should be between 2-3 minutes. You must appear in the video and speak the language you will teach.
  • Shoot a horizontal video with the camera at your eyes level. Look directly into the camera
  • Create a script using our lesson slides and practice beforehand
  • Use daylight or light from a powerful lamp from the front
  • Teach in a quiet environment and talk in a clear voice.
  • Use good quality camera and headphone
  • Your surroundings must be neat and clean. Decorate the area with some charts or props representing the language or nation

Teaching In Qkids Classroom

  • Qkids provides a complete curriculum that you need to teach. It includes lesson slides, games, videos, etc. that make learning fun for young learners. Remember, your class will have 4-5 students aged between 4-12 years.
  • Keep nice, clean, well-lit surroundings. The students should be able to see and listen to you clearly.
  • The lesson should not feel like you are reading a script. Be natural and make eye contact with students so they feel connected with you.
  • Introduce what you will be teaching in the class. Use your skills and teaching resources to maneuver sessions.
  • Come prepared for the class. Review the lesson slides in advance so you know what you are teaching.
  • Put some charts or objects in the background that relate to the lesson being taught.
  • Arrive a few minutes early in the class. Keep your teaching materials ready and set up your equipment.
  • Maintain a pleasant personality. Smile to make your students comfortable around you.
  • Dress up in smart casuals. This is a face-to-face interactive class so your impression counts.
